A Forgery of Roses by Jessica S. Olson

If it were possible I’d have given thousands of stars to this book. I can’t believe I waited this long to read this masterpiece. Saying that let’s dive into the reasons I loved it so much.
This book is perfectly articulated. The story is precise and to point. Every scene has been crafted with information that helps understand Myra, Lucy and August. The sheer love and loyalty between the two sisters whose parents went missing is something my heart felt more than my brain registered the words. I loved how the author didn’t shy away from detailing every aspect of the story. The beautiful details of their worlds, the painting done for the stories are efficient. The character build up was amazing.
And the twists. My goodness, I could never guess it would end the way it did. The reveal was so dramatic. I kept asking questions about guessing it as I went deep. I’d say it is a good book when everything I thought happened haven’t really happened, if it makes sense lol.
Overall, a great short read. If you’re new to fantasy this will be a perfect book to start with. Not too complex yet very compelling.
