While this was a quick read, it was a let down. I felt confused pretty much the whole time. I felt like there was no character growth for Violet or Alekander, which I also didn’t see the chemistry between them… like I knew to expect it but it didn’t make sense.
Also, there was no sense of urgency. She gives you 10 years and her uncles didn’t explain to her what was happening. Also I didn’t really get the whole scholars… like what was there purpose besides kidnapping kids? And the parties, what were they for? Besides making it look like some cult.
I was interested in the whole concept of keys opening worlds -that is was I found interesting and would have liked to read more on that.
Overall it was just ok. Nothing memorable about it.
