This was definitely not my cup of tea. It had sat in my physical TBR for nearly 10 years, and I am now mostly glad to have been done with it. I probably would have enjoyed these short stories more if I had read them as part of a class, or from an edition including some elements of analysis ; as it stands, reading this mostly felt like very long explanations of why every bored rich person is bored, miserable and most of all, not a good person, and that married couples all secretly despise the other.
I can feel that there is more under the surface, and I understand why there are often comparisons between Mansfield and Virginia Woolf - it's just not a style I enjoy.
