The Beautiful Ones by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

4.0

I do think it’s a good book. The love and relationships are kind of complicated, and it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. That part, I did love a lot. I loved that Nina matured in Part 2, at least somewhat. It was quite noticeable even though she did continue to make questionable choices. The book in the end managed to convince me that Hector had truly changed and had me rooting for him eventually. In the beginning of part two, I actually wanted Nina to marry Luc, even though it was obvious that he would eventually be painted in a bad light, he did seem to genuinely have some sort of affection for her. I just didn’t believe Hector at all. But the book managed to convince me that Hector really loves Nina and that they are well matched. Even though I seemed to have enjoyed it somewhat, I also didn’t enjoy it THAT much. It is a good book though, not at all the typical romance, but at the same time very typical as well, if that makes sense. All in all, quite conflicting.
