I really wanted to like this book but, unfortunately, it just irritated me. I struggled with the writing style and the characters from the get-go and I feel that neither really improved throughout.
I hated poppy and I hated Noah. I didn't get any of the chemistry or build up to the relationship which is a big issue as that's the whole point of the story.
There was a lot of misogyny in the book that I really didn't care for. I get that it's a normal teenage thing to want to "not be like most girls" but I find it very frustrating to read and I believe that we deserve YA fiction that behaves better than this.
I liked the sci-fi elements but unfortunately found them half baked and bizzare. I just really wasn't able to suspend my disbelief while reading this.
I really liked the ending and I think that if I'd liked the characters more and believed more in the relationship it would've been more impactful.
