Four stars mostly for its historical relevance. 3 otherwise.
I just recently heard about this mini-novel during a podcast I listen to. Written in 1939, it gives an interesting perspective on Hitler’s rise to power and the ease with which people were drawn to him. It consists of letters to and from 2 men in 1933 (one living here and one living in Munich) as Hitler begins his assent and control. A short 67 pages, it gives much to think about. The author’s life story (written in the afterward) is interesting as well.
