I really thought this book was a great read and I would definitely check out works by Elle Kayson again, but there were some things left to be desired.

Firstly, when Dream confided in Dayana that she was going to abort Demon's baby because he was aggressive, lead a dangerous lifestyle, and was emotionally negligent towards her, I felt that Dayana should have been supportive in her sister's decisions regardless of her own personal feelings. ESPECIALLY since Smoke tore the whole city down to hunt Jordan because he was trying to get Dayana to marry him when that wasn't what she wanted. She had the perfect opportunity to stand up for Dream because she could relate to her in that way, but by telling Demon (who came and essentially forced her to stay pregnant)  Dayana betrayed her instead.

With the romance between Dream and Demon. I absolutely understand the hard exterior that was created towards the beginning of the book, and it was one of those things that made me enjoy their romance. But I feel like his character development started a little too late in the book. To me, starting it earlier would have given us the opportunity to see a Demon who had a soft spot for Dream (it would have been wonderful to see them communicate better and work through their emotions a little more and actually fall in love with one another. It felt a little forced) even if he was still tangled up in his lifestyle. But instead, his dynamic with Dream was very dismissive and leaning towards the abusive side. As a person who loves some Demon I know he would never!
