Gossip Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar

1.0

Having just gotten back into reading, I was looking for a light and interesting read with this book. I knew this was a tv series as well, but had never seen it so I figured I would read the book then watch the show. Within the first 50 pages of the book, I felt it was moving too slowly with an extreme focus on minor details. The idea of the book is fantastic, a anonymous person posting on a blog about the elite children of New York, but the execution was poor at best. I decided to try watching the show instead, and see if it moved along any faster as it was definitely an interesting plot that I wanted to learn more about. Within 5 minutes of the show I gathered more details of the characters and plot information than I received in the first 25 pages of the book. Now i'm not usually one to choose the show over the book, but in this case its necessary. To anyone interested in reading this: this is one book that you're better off watching.
