I… I’m kinda disappointed.
I don’t really have much to say about this one, which is sad because I usually love a JLA novel… but it just felt like a filler book if you get me?

Don’t get me wrong, I loved seeing Poppy and Kieran get closer and Poppy develop *slightly* as a character… but that was it really. Nothing really shocked me in this one, and nothing really stood out other than the last 50 pages. Once the actual ‘war’ part started, things got exciting, but that was done with within 15 pages and the book ended… I wanted a full blown war, man. I wanted Poppy leading legions into actual battle, with her full plate armour. I wanted to see her become strong WITHOUT that primal element to her. And it just didn’t happen.

I’ll definitely pick up the next ones, I’m super excited for other JLA books and I believe this one probably IS just a filler and not meant to be a massive part of the story, but with a title like The War of Two Queens, where there’s no real war? Kinda a bummer.
