The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison
5.0
the bluest eye, like much of toni morrison's writings, is so good at exposing and picking apart some of the deepest systematic and generational wounds. it's so intimate and severe that the reader is constantly forced to witness, to bear, to interrogate, to be accountable. the bluest eye was really unforgiving and i was absolutely floored by its pain, detail, lyric, and depth.
