This is the story of the author and her (mostly) tame coyote, Charlie. At times it was tough to read as she discussed the hunting of coyote in Wyoming as they are seen as a menace. I understand she was pushed into writing this book when she did, and I know she has her blog, but I kind of wish she’d waited a bit before publishing. This book is only about their first year together and while that is when they form their relationship (which this book is primarily about), I’m sure the adventures have continued.
I do agree with some other reviewers who comment on the author’s self-congratulatory statements. I also noted that, though she does acknowledge and address her own issues with establishing dominance with Charlie, all other issues seemed to be someone else’s fault.
In general, though, I quite enjoyed it. The photos are a nice touch and definitely made me want to check out her blog for more of them.
