A Soul of Ash and Blood (Blood and Ash Book 5)
Rating : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“The process of falling in love with Poppy had started in Masadonia. It had just taken me that time to realize I could be worthy of such an emotion after betraying her – after all I’d done. That I could allow myself to love and be loved without hesitation or conditions.”

“I knew this was real. What was between us. What she felt for me. What I felt for her. This. It was real.”

I think some time a part from this series is just what I needed after The War of Two Queens. Please don't take that the wrong way. I always enjoy being in this world with Poppy and Cas, but The War of Two Queens was possibly my least favorite of the series.

However, A Soul of Ash and Blood, was possibly one of my favorites! Jumping between past and present, I loved getting Casteel's point of view on the events leading up to this point (though mainly it covered book 1), as well as more info about what was going on after the showdown at the end of WOTQ. I mean Cas' pov... utter 🔥. I also think this book is the perfect recap before continuing on in the series with the final book that comes out this year! That ending, and what it means moving forward... mind blown 🤯.
