4.5 stars! This book was really well written and the concept was very interesting. the reason it didn't get 5 stars is because I thought the second half was a little rushed. I wish it would've been longer so that it could've been fleshed out more. Once Jonas was selected to be the new reliever everything happened so fast and with so little detail. Had it been more developed it would've earned the second half of the star.
That being said I really enjoyed the world Lowry created. It's a really cool take on the dystopian society of everyone giving away any sense of uniqueness. **SPOILER** I wish we got to see more about the Rosemary story, as well as what happened to the society after Jonas and Gabe's esacpe. **END SPOILER**
Overall this was an incredible novel and I understand why it's so widely regarded and studied. I honestly can't believe it took me so long to read it, but I'm glad I finally got around to it!
