I'm reviewing an ARC of this book, which is set to be published in Aug., 2021.
I think this story will be fun for its intended audience. The biggest hurdle for me was the pacing of the plot. The beginning was difficult because the writing wasn't great. The dialogue and plot literally felt like someone completing a creative writing assignment. However, the quality of the writing got better towards the end and there were some genuinely creepy events and descriptions.
The story got a bit bogged down in the middle with the missing kindergarten teacher subplot and the ending was very rushed and a little too...perfect??
