The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith

4.0

A typical detective novel, "The Cuckoo's Calling" was kind of slow at times, yet was still totally enjoyable to read. I happen to adore Rowling's detailed writing style. She is so descriptive, and her characters are all so very real. You get to know everyone and understand everyone involved in the story. She just pays attention to her own writing, and I appreciate that. I thought the end was a little drawn out as I thought I solved the mystery quite a few chapters earlier (and I was right! Score!), but again, I loved reading it. I enjoyed the slow parts *and* the fast parts. I enjoyed the drawn out bits. (I don't think there was anything that was really skimmed over. She's great about that!). Can't wait to read the next Cormoran Strike story.
