T. Kingfisher is, of course, my new favorite author, and I am now obsessed with her books. This was a fun story and I read it after Swordheart so it was nice to hear some of the characters, entities, and locations from there. The narration was excellent - had to put headphones on for the spicy bits though 😂 I can’t wait to read the rest of this series! Stephan’s back being out at the end had me cackling, as did several other moments in this book, but that one especially since it was so relatable - at 29 my back is frequently out after strenuous activity lmao but usually that’s just shoveling snow not fun activities 🤣
Graphic: Body horror, Domestic abuse, Mental illness, Panic attacks/disorders, Sexual content, Suicide, Violence, Blood, Murder
Moderate: Religious bigotry, Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Sexism, Stalking, Sexual harassment
Warning clarification: I put mental illness in relation to the Paladin’s loss of a god which had a lot of parallels to depression
