Sometimes I feel like I’m missing something when I enjoy a highly rated book less than I’d expected. This was a good read, and a complex mystery with twists and turns. However I do feel like some of it could have been cut. There was quite a bit of filler in chapters that made it feel longer than it needed to be. Pacing is so important in mystery/thriller books and for me it didn’t quite move as quickly as I’d hoped. Perhaps my mistake was listening to the audiobook (maybe I just didn’t like the narration?) but at times the time skipping and different character perspectives became difficult to follow while listening.
