I recently read and loved another of the author’s novels recently so of course I had to buy another of her books and it didn’t disappoint.

Lottie is the local electrician and has had enough of her current book club as it’s far too formal and they don’t read the books she enjoys so she decides to start up a new one. She decides to hold it in the local bookshop which is owned by newcomer Matt. Matt is the total opposite to Lottie. Where as Lottie is strong willed, care free and not worried about what she eats, Matt on the other hand is quite reserved, likes to keep himself in good shape and watches what he eats.

They do say opposites attract though and this is definitely the case with these two. Along with Lottie and Matt, we get to know the other book club members who are a lot of fun as well as Matt’s sister and dad. I love that the book club isn’t just about dissecting a novel, whilst there is some book talk of what they liked about it, its also a chance for members to get to know each other better and enjoy some light hearted relief from their daily lives.

The Beach Reads Book Club is without a doubt the type of book club I wish I was part of. The fact it is held in a book shop and has a dishy owner is just an added bonus. It is a fun and uplifting story with a blossoming romance at the heart of it. There are plenty of humorous parts and its a book you don’t want to put down when picked up as you get wrapped up in the story and transported into the characters lives. Needless to say I will be off to buy more of the authors books as they are the perfect escapism.
