Easily one of the best books I've read in a while. Chang is a master of words, weaving leaving you breathless with every single page. Love and violence. Desire and disgust. There is an ugliness in everything we find beautiful. It is also rare to find a book that describes what it means to be Mother and Daughter. Yet Chang understands it all. I'm going to be thinking about this one for weeks.
