Dead Mountain
by Douglas Preston, Lincoln Child
This was a mistake for me to read. I'm too into the case that this is referencing for me to enjoy how many massive errors there are in this. The fact that the setting of this case was moved to New Mexico was a big enough red flag that this was not going to be good for me. I like that this had a super corrupt cop in it, and I feel like the author definitely means well in their writing. If you're into detective stories this would probably work well for you, it's just not a genre I tend to like and if I didn't know the case I wouldn't have picked it up at all. I think this case had a lot of directions where this could have been interesting but the actual reveal was just anticlimactic.
