Us Conductors by Sean Michaels

4.0

This story includes many of my interests: historically based, it involves spies, intrigue, music (with great knowledge and insight of same), a bit of nordic noir, unrequited love (oh! the yearning, the focus!) and characters that interest me, whom I can champion. Plus it's Canadian and a prize-winner to boot. I was aware of "Us Conductors" in 2014 when it won the Giller, but it look another six years for me to read it. I'm glad I waited because my years of cello study made me a better reader of this novel. I'll miss the characters.
