There is a huge misconception that this book is “feminist”. While there is a single moment where I felt that feminism was relative to the plot, that isn’t what this book is about. If people paid more attention to what’s actually happening within the main characters head and her emotions, they would realize it’s more about loneliness and struggling with immortality while her loved ones are mortal. There’s even theme of betrayal. I feel that simply labeling this book as feminist makes it easy for people to miss the important and emotional notes happening in the background.
