The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch
2.0

The character is supposed to be amazingly clever but this tricks to steal money aren't really all that clever. They all felt like I'd seen/read them before. Why I buy a book look this, I am looking for something new and clever not old and stale.

Half of this book is about stealing money, which the characters have NO use for. it just sits in a big pit of money. The other half is about revenge. While the character (Locke) is motivated to take revenge, I couldn't care less. The people who were killed were thieves and murderers with no real value to society, so when they died I didn't care. Not in the least. I was kind of hoping Locke would too, but, unfortunately, there is a sequel. And, unfortunately, I already bought it.
