Animals of the Bible
by Dorothy P. Lathrop
Caldecott Award 1938
I really enjoyed the Leviathan on p. 29 - impressively frightening and just a cool picture. It was fun to see some stories that I haven't thought of for awhile. I enjoyed Daniel in the Lion's Den. Not something I think of every day.
Interesting that Helen Dean Fish gets the credit on Goodreads. It does say she's the editor. She didn't have to write since she selected text from the bible. A unique situation. On the title page though, the illustrator gets top billing and that seems appropriate.
Not a big fan of King James for kids though at the time they would have likely been familiar.
