Mediocre writing. I found Alexis insufferable for a majority of the book. The author seemed to be unable to determine who she wanted the character to be so traits often fluctuated. Simply put, this is Wattpad level writing at best. This book would have been decent if it was 25% shorter which would have cut out Alexis’s worthless internal musings. A lot of the character interactions were super cringey. The story did a poor job at pacing and developing relationships. The reasons for wanting or hating Alexis from the main male characters were shallow. There was nothing about Alexis that convinced me as the reader that she was worthy of all the fuss. And another thing, even the writing for Alexis as a child was disjointed. The writing really killed a potentially interesting story on Greek mythology unfortunately. The editor didn’t do their job with making the right cuts to the story.
