One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez

medium-paced

3.5

I went into this expecting it to be a slow and solemn classic and was incredibly surprised by the unending craziness that was crammed in each page. While a lot of the writing was in long paragraphs with minimal breaks, the action certainly never stopped. About halfway through the book I found myself in a lull not really caring about what happened to the characters, because nothing STOPPED happening. It was constantly one thing after another which got a little tiring by the third generation.  Honestly, I'm still processing my opinions on this book. All in all, I finished it and I'm glad I did!

I also thank god there was a family tree at the beginning of this book so I could flip back to it and remember who was who.
