This was so good at the beginning and I loved reading about a chronically ill FMC but damn, that got messy so quickly šŸ™ƒ I want other chronically ill girlies who are hoping for some proper rep to know what that rep entails. Take care of yourselves šŸ«¶šŸ»

TW: Abuse of power by a doctor, doctor x former patient (she's 18), grooming by a doctor

Turns out her pos ex Rob was the surgeon who operated on her when she was a young teenager (!!) and then started hooking up with her when she turned eighteen. Oh, and he's also married to her sister. Summer straight up says that Rob groomed her (yeah that's obvious) but she's kept his secret so long that she's even let her sister marry him and she still doesn't want to tell anyone because "he's obviously good at what he does". Man, idgaf how good of a surgeon he is, that is a straight up predator who works in pediatrics. This was all just treated as some āœØdramaticāœØ subplot and not treated with nearly the decency and respect it deserved. I'll probably check out the other books after a bit of time because damn, this left a bad taste in my mouth šŸ¤¢

(All of this also puts a quote we get pretty early on into a completely different light: "My ex, Rob, put my heart back together and then tore it to shreds. I wish I could say I hate him. I should hate him. But itā€™s hard to extricate myself from him. Thereā€™s something intensely personal about letting someone inside your body that way." bc you know...he had his hands literally on her heart...inside her body...when she was a teenager...because he operated on her...)
