I don’t normally read military romances but thought I would give this a try. I do enjoy Rebecca’s style of writing and this story was well written IMO.

I loved how Izzy and Nate meet. It was a meeting that was written in the stars and what some do dream about. It was very romantic and every time they would meet up it was always the right person but the wrong time. Which actually does happen in real life which makes this a “dreamy” romance. 

Even though they always meet up but never pursued an actual relationship, Izzy and Nate’s last meeting will change everything. Now don’t get me wrong, I understand why the setting is the way it is in the book, but do I agree with it or like it? No, no I don’t and it’s one of the reasons why I don’t care for military romances. Other than that, I did enjoy reading about Izzy and Nate’s relationship.

This is a romance but it’s mildly spicy. In The Likely Event is more so focused on how Izzy and Nate’s relationship got to where they are now in the book and now so much of the spice. For that I’ll rate it a 2 since there are one/two spice sences.
