Perfect Ten by Nikki Worrell

5.0

Perfect Ten is the first escort book I've read and it was the perfect book to begin my introduction into the escort storyline. It was a sexy, sensual, and sophisticated read, but don't worry, it has its naughtiness too. I say it's sophisticated because it's well-written and the main characters are wealthy, but they aren't the stuck up, snobby, "I think I'm better than everyone else" kind of rich people - well, most of them aren't anyway. They are kind, warm, good-hearted, and fashionable people. Perfect Ten is a sweet, easy, humorous read and I hated it whenever I had to pull myself away from the book. It was so awesome - I just loved it!

Joe Starling is an escort for Perfect Ten. He's the best in the business and it's not hard to understand why. The man is a perfect ten with his delicious body and face, but what makes him irresistible is how magnificent he is on the inside. Although it's true that in the beginning, he's a total slut, but now he's just Faith's slut. Joe will do anything she wants and he's insatiable, but he really a great guy. He's sweet, thoughtful, and respectful - a true gentleman, but have no fear ladies, he's a naughty, dirty gentleman too. I didn't always like some of the things he's done or says, but he's faithful, protective, and he just has this inner warmth about him that you can't help but love him.

Faith Graham grew up with four "perfect" women with "perfect" stick thin bodies. She has been bullied by her mother and sisters because she actually has a figure with curves. I hated how they and her mother's family treated her, but it wasn't all bad because her father's family, and especially her father, completely adore her. She has some pretty awesome friends too, but even with those positives, Faith is insecure and so confused why someone who looks like Joe would want someone who looks like her.

Deep down Faith knows she's beautiful, but it takes awhile for her to be confident about her body and to trust that Joe truly desires her. I think Ms. Worrell did a great job of setting the stage of the initial insecureness and then the steady build up of confidence. I could feel myself starting to feel a smidgen of annoyance at Faith's constant "I don't fit with how Joe looks," but then she started to see herself the way Joe does and she stopped doubted him and herself so much. Faith really is a wonderful heroine and I loved her for her kindness and her newfound strength and confidence.

Joe and Faith have quite a few obstacles that they have to overcome, but they love each other and get their HEA. I absolutely loved this book and how meaningful it was. I thought it was realistic, and Ms. Worrell couldn't have done a better job. I can't wait to see what else she comes up with and I would love to see Faith's meddling friends get their own stories!
