Kate Sheffield becoming Kathani Shamra was one of the best things that could have happened to this story. Not only did I like the show's version of this story better because of Simone Ashley, but because the show gives the characters so much more.. they are far more interesting in the show. Perhaps that is because of the great work of the actors, but there are just so many more layers to the story in the show. I love Kate and Anthony's story, so I did not hate the book. I am quite glad though that the show took creative liberties. Anthony is also so much more charming in the show (which I am sure is a lot to do w how dreamy Johnathan Bailey is). I also appreciate that in the show they genuinely fall in love and then end up marrying, rather than being forced to marry due to being caught in a precarious position.

All in all, the story had good bones and the show made it better. Once again, I might be feeling this due to having watched the show first. Regardless, the book was okay. Not bad, but not great.
