The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski

4.0

Before I get into the review, I'd like to mention that I've watched the TV show "Witcher" before reading the book. This is probably the reason why I loved and enjoyed the stories in this book. I loved the show, it was epic! The book was not so epic, there were some scenes/stories that, to me, were done way better, funnier and cooler in the show. In the book, we're only following Geralt's story while in the show we have so many other characters and stories, they're so much dynamic that the books are sort of lacking.

However, I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved the writing. I loved that stories were a retelling of fairytales like Beauty and the Beast etc. I'm not sure how I'd like the book if I haven't watched the show though. I feel as if I wouldn't be as interested and invested in all of it. Nonetheless, a really entertaining and fun read. It gave me pleasure and took me on an adventure, which is what I'm in for when reading fantasy. Will definitely continue the series!

If you've loved the show, I definitely recommend it. But don't hold me accountable if you don't find it as exciting and funny as the show. I can't speak for the video games as I've never played them, nor I'm interested in them.
