Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

I need to be careful saying this is my favorite in the series so far, given that I still have four to go, but this really is. Seeing Celaena's growth in this and her being able to move on from her past to accept her future was so beautifully done. I adore Rowan and his parallels to Celaena as well. Her learning to trust again through him and vice versa. Her acceptance of Aelin. Just all of it.

I loved the introduction of Manon. The witches in this universe are fascinating to me, and Manon is an excellent pov character to further build that section.

The chapters that I slugged through the most were the ones that focused on Chaol and Dorian. Seeing what was going on while Celaena was away was slightly interesting, and it was nice seeing Chaol actually have to select a side, but there wasn't much that I cared for there. I just don't really care for Chaol, and I find him bland. I wish there was more with Dorian, but I feel that given what happened towards the end of the book, that should occur.
