4.5

As the second installment in the series, the action picks up considerably while the development of twists, betrayals and disappearances amps up the intrigue. These books are your typical slow burn read as many of the elements surrounding the plot are not fully explained. Rather, each character brings in a level of organized chaos and distrust that everything feels new and unexpected. I am not a fantasy reader so my appreciation may not hold global value but I am loving the story development between Ophelia and Thorn along with the many challenges waiting for them ahead. I already ordered Book and 3, 4. Very satisfied so far.
