Carrion Comfort by Dan Simmons

4.0

Carrion Comfort is the second Dan Simmons novel I have read. The first book was Drood. Both books were over 800 pages. Dan Simmons does love the look of his words on paper.

The difference between these two books was the way these pages were used. In Drood the pacing was too slow and the novel suffered from being so lengthy. It felt bloated like it needed at least one, possibly two good edits. But in Carrion Comfort The story was epic, spanning the globe, and the pacing was fast, so it did not feel like it was bloated.

This book was a winner, and makes me interested in reading another Dan Simmons book, but you know, just not right now.
