Beautiful Country by Qian Julie Wang
4.5
emotional inspiring reflective medium-paced

I enjoyed this memoir a lot. While it will leave you with some questions about what was really going on with some of the adults, it reads as a brutally honest account of what it's like growing up undocumented in the US. Wang's writing is straight-forward but evocative, and the memoir is well-paced such as to give you enough details to have a firm image of little Qian and her life in your mind, without letting itself get bogged down.
