This was a ride. Definitely took a chapter or two to really warm up but once we got into the meat and potatoes of the plot we really started zooming. I had read more than half of it in one day! That halfway point onward is spicy. Actually interested in possibly reading the rest of the series. The layout is easy to take breaks when needed which I think is a plus. It's written VERY vividly it both it's combative and romantic aspects. Aside from that I liked that there are constantly moving pieces and very natural world building elements for this world that Broadbent has created. I would be a liar if I didn't say my initial impression from the summary set my expectations pretty low but this blew me away.
