Loved this installment
I loved, loved this installment of Ronan and Tennyson’s cop-psychic romantic suspense tale. Ronan is a Boston police detective assigned to the cold case division. He is struggling personally after the shocking revelations about his ex-husband (Dead Speak). Tennyson is a psychic who worked as Ronan’s partner in the last book and they became romantically involved. Despite their feelings for each other, the after shocks of the revelations from book one caused them to break up - at least temporarily. As Ronan and Tennyson work together to solve the case of a serial killer targeting young gay men, they also get the opportunity to work on repairing some of the fissures in their romantic relationship. To solve the case and find their way back together, there is more baggage unpacking, truth telling, leaps of faith, clue uncovering, and ghosts. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline as shown through sweet moments, steamy scenes, action, dangerous situations, ghosts, loyal friends, tragic back stories, mystical coincidences, snark, plot twists, big feels, and laughs. I love that Ronan and Tennyson’s characters are messy humans and continue to make mistakes which makes them really likeable and relatable heroes. I also love that the supporting characters are so well developed. I will definitely keep reading the series.
