Luna: New Moon by Ian McDonald

The Five Dragons or noble families, have split up the moon amongst themselves. The main family in the narrative is the house Corta, made up of former Brazilians.
Really really in depth space opera here. Lots of fun intrigue, power plays, action scenes, and attempted/successful assassinations. I did dock it a star because it’s so much like Dune there are like full analogs of like the Baron, Duke Leto, and maybe even Paul, that it was a bit distracting to me. But overall it was an excellent book and I look forward to reading the rest of the trilogy.
