When You Read This by Mary Adkins
3.0

Adkins did a great job of using a multitude of formats (email, blog post, text message, etc.) to compose a story in the formats it would take in the modern world. Of course it will always take some adjustment to read this type of novel when you're used to a more traditional format, but once you get in the swing of things, it seems completely natural. Iris sometimes seems a bit distant as a character (she is, after all, dead before the story begins), but she's so alive for her former boss and her sister in particular, and that is the strength of the story. It's really difficult to review this book, but I think it's worth reading and I recommend it to basically all fiction readers.

The fine print: received ARC from Edelweiss.
