A Fierce and Subtle Poison by Samantha Mabry

2.0

Loved the idea of the book but I feel like I spent most of it squinty eyed saying "...okay???" repeatedly. I didn't feel as if we spent enough time with Isabel even though she is technically one of the main characters and I really wish we could have learned more or heard more from her. I also didn't care for Lucas (the story is told from his point of view), mostly because beyond finding out he's rich there's not much depth. Also, the "love" he has for Isabel is not built up at all and reminds me of Romeo falling for Juliet the instant he sees her even though he doesn't know her. The plot was decent but nothing to write home about. Overall, it was an okay book but I wish the premise could have been better executed!!
