This isn't the type of book I read normally, and I was a bit put off by the synopsis, but I wanted to read the book before I watched the new Netflix film. And now that I've finished it, maybe I was wrong about the genre after all? I loved it!

Yes, Lara Jean is a bit immature and boring (something they really improved upon in the film) but she is only 16, and I'm sure if most of us could read our diaries or journals from when we were 16 we'd cringe too. This book reminded me how intense and dramatic everything was in high school and I like that, a little bit of cheesiness is okay! I found myself smiling while I read this (something which doesn't happen often since I read such depressing books), and not wanting it to end. I can't wait to order the next two now and I know I'll probably get through them in a day as well.

TATBILB was such an easy read and I think that makes a good break between all the intense and serious books I've had on my TBR, maybe I need to read more lighthearted books sometimes!
