Take Me by Becca Jones

hopeful relaxing medium-paced

5.0

Take Me is the first book in the McCaffrey Brothers Series. If you have previously read Becca's Baseball series: The Angles, you get a taste of the Brothers.

Rachel is the little sister of Parker who plays for the Angles(Not Your Average Road Trip) and Franks sister, Will is married a another Angles player (Not your Average Girl). So Rachel and Frank have been around each other and she has been infatuated with him since she has seen him. Only catch, since she is the little sister and Frank is hung up on the age gap, the relationship between them is minimal.

This changes when Rachel moves to New York for a dream job and a stalker which ends her up living with Frank!

Frank is a police detective and just a grumpy man. He is a protector and not only with his family but with Rachel. Becca did a great job developing him throughout the book. Really showing his growth but she did not change is character. Frank is and will always be grumpy. Also, he is a little dirty talker and knows how to throw it down in the bedroom.

Rachel's was to so badly to be seen. She doesn't want to be just the little sister anymore. Moving to New York is her chance to do this. Rachel's character was fun! Her internal conversations had me lol-ing. The way she drooled over Frank was entertaining and there was no doubt in her mind that she wanted him.

Frank and Rachel balance each other out. Frank fought for as long as he could but you can't fight love and I am glad he and Rachel got their HEA.

Since these two new characters have ties from the pervious series, The Angels, Becca even gave us just enough of those characters from the past series without overpowering Rachel and Frank and their story. One thing I really enjoy about Becca's books is she has these text convos. In the convos though is the constant back and forth of gifs. It her thing and her characters thing and I LOVE IT.
