Jane wants one thing: for her best friend, Ally, to gain confidence. When her wish seems to have come true and Ally is suddenly confident and dazzling, Jane suspects that there’s more to this change than meets the eye. Ally has sold her soul to the devil and Jane is the only one with the power to save her, but if she fails, they are all doomed.

Review contains mild spoilers from this point on.

I loved that Jane’s voice is witty and sarcastic with an edge; I found myself laughing with her over and over. However, It’s very hard to enjoy witty prose when everyone is being an idiot. The characters with all of the info that Jane needs never seem to give her the practical solution and basically tell her that she has to go along with the demon’s plans. Yet Ally finds a way to foil the demon herself, another way… All the plot holes… Why would the author bother to set up these apparently concrete paranormal rules just to have her main character foil them all? It seemed like a waste of my time as a reader and left a bad taste in my mouth. Additionally, the whole reason Jane is in this predicament is because of her "best friend" Ally, who I couldn't stand. So the novel overall just didn't come together for me.
