THIS IS COSMIC HORROR.


 I may have mistaken and have maybe not seen the tag? The guy is definitely a pawn. The area is clearly ruled by something. This was extremely anxiety inducing and would be effective on people who are affected by it. I think the spiraling down of the second half was well structured. We are clearly dealing with a lovecraftian level threat here. Characters being shifted to alternate realities. 

But my question is what is the significance of the male father character in playing house/family to this great of an extent?  What does that possibly serve? Clearly that man or thing is a puppet.
