The book spent far too much time on Laurie & Dan and their history then it did on Laurie & Jamie and their burgeoning relationship. 

The parts of the book I enjoyed was Laurie & Jamie confronting and healing from their traumas

I felt like the writing was all over the place. It didn’t have a good flow
