4.5 stars. This was a really enjoyable read, even though the subject matter is a little (okay a lot) taboo. Leah Raeder has a way of describing things in such a beautiful and poetic way without crossing into "purple prose" territory. Maise is freaking awesome and this is definitely one of the best new adult books that I've read because she is so different from the typical shy, insecure female lead in these type of books. I loved her confidence and boldness, and she was a great character to read from.
