This book just did it for me. The way Parini Shroff wrote this story of a fierce woman, with unjust circumstances and inner monologue so great, this indian village full of cultural rules and varied characters, this story of getting justice even when you have to take it forcefully from your oppressors and sometimes just from society itself, this group of women hating and loving each other with their history and misunderstandings and selfishness and compassion, all while writing it in the most humorous and funny way imaginable, the situations that came up, the conversations held, but still never losing the impact, the emotion and the human connection between the characters and between all of this the rich and beautiful and sometimes terrifying culture of India. Just incredible.
