ARC Review: Thank you to SJ Tilly and The Smuthood for sending me a copy to read and review.
“I like you a brownie amount”
SJ Tilly knocked this book out of the park. I was hooked from the beginning. There was so much humor and heart in this book. There was also just the right amount of tension. So many times throughout the book I found myself saying “damnit, Joe!” I also loved the addition of Buddy to the Tilly world. It was also good to see some of the characters from Mountain Boss make an appearance.
How could I now swoon over Luther?! Now I think I need a Daddy Luther. I loved the instant connection with Kendra. I loved how he anticipated her needs and met them. I loved the banter between Luther and Joe. Laugh out loud funny. SJ Tilly knows how to write male main characters and I always look forward to the MMC’s POV.
I loved that Kendra found a safe space with Luther. A place where she could be herself. Kendra was by no means a helpless woman, she had done a lot of hard things on her own, but seeing her find a man that she could lean on and know that he would be there to catch her if she falls was so touching.
This book was an absolute joy to read and I can’t wait to add it to my physical collection. This is a book I will revisit and I know I will swoon, and get those butterflies every time I read it.
