This book is a lot of fun. I’m actually floored because i do NOT remember liking this book at ALL. Like i used to own it, read it, and decided to give it away, which is something i never ever do. This time around was MUCH better. The Egyptian mythology was really hard to follow at first but i think i got the hang of it…Isis (Sadie) was married to Osiris (Daddy Kane), their son is Horace (Carter), their brother is Set (Uncle Amos), Set’s wife is Nephthys (Zia), Set and Nephthys son is Anubis…And they are all collectively the children of Nut and Geb. And i have NO idea how King Ra fits into this family tree. Easy peasy. Enjoyed the 2 main protagonists but the supporting cast is kind of lacking so far? Zia and Anubis are cool and have potential but they weren’t giving me a whole lot and atLEAST Zia should have been? She’s pretty cool tho. Got my stan card ready. i can already see Rick starting trying to justify a Sadie and Anubis romance…Anyways overall it is nowhere near as good as Percy Jackson, HOO, or Magnus Chase but it was a fun time.
