megantron2000 's review for:
Service Model
by Adrian Tchaikovsky
Reader, confirmed. Cute tone overlaying a grim story (Prattchet-esque but I don't think quite achieving the same level). Fun adventure with creative characters that had a Phantom Tollbooth feel.
I think his take on the "robots becoming humanized" type of story has a good/interesting perspective. While sometimes the tone was a little hard to pin down (the 3rd POV narration was its own voice/style, which was NOT impartial to the story it was narrating), the literal narration by Tchaikovsky was incredible--he read really well.
It was fun!
